Checking In: Hotel Henriette - Paris
I love spending time in Paris, I mean who doesn't? So when Mama Mcfred and I booked tickets on the Eurostar (always one for their sales!), I knew exactly where I wanted to stay for the night.
My pal Allie had stayed in the Summer and raved about it, and although it was a little further out of the centre, there's something about staying somewhere that feels a little more homely. Neighbourhood-like.
Situated in a small and quiet street, close to the Mouffetard District, Hotel Henriette has this real cosy and relaxed vibe about it. The rooms are all individually designed, and create a unique and intimate experience, and from the moment we stepped inside, I couldn't agree more.We had booked a Double Room for the two of us with it just being a base for the night, but were surprised with an upgrade to Deluxe Double Room, because they'd found out it was my birthday only days ago (so sweet!). As we made our way upstairs to the top floor, we couldn't help but feel welcome and so at home here.
And that didn't leave us, until we checked out.
The room was incredibly spacious, and attention to detail was everything. I absolutely loved the headboard, so much so, I've been debating changing up my own bed back home, for something similar.Looking out from the windows, were beautiful views of the quaint Parisian streets, and it was perfect to be checked in, just in time to see the sun setting.
And of course, being a huge plant fan, I fell in love with all of the foliage decor, especially THAT set up by the courtyard. For us, it was a little chilly to sit outside and enjoy a drink in the courtyard, but in the morning, we sure appreciated it before we left for another day exploring.
I can just imagine, sitting here in the summer, with a nice glass of wine.
Hotel Henriette is in such a lovely location, that we were spoilt for choice on where to eat for dinner. As we headed towards the hotel to check in, we found endless streets filled with restaurants and bars, with a vibrant atmosphere to match. We opted for a traditional restaurant, L'Assiette aux Fromages, which was only 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
And there's plenty of places to stop by, for a drink (or three), before or after a delicious meal. So whilst the Latin Quarter is tempting for a romantic or cosy meal, there was just something nice about being somewhere a little less touristy. And I would definitely recommend that. I'm already dreaming about my next trip back to this beautiful hotel.
